I’m a big fan of Nike and Nike Digital Sport. Don’t get me wrong. I’ve even worked with Nike on occasion. However when I saw this whilst doing some research I nearly fell off my chair.
Technology has made many things in life better. There’s no point me listing any of them. We each have our favourites right? It sounds clever. The shoe adapts to your foot. Makes sense.
In a world where we now shepherd a tiny army of devices, each with their own charging solution, it feels silly to add something else to that device entourage, reliant on technology to perform the simplest of functions.
There’s a simplicity and beauty in nature, in not being surrounded by electronic things all the time, and on self reliance. This feels a little bit Chindogu to me. You know, the Japanese term for creating useless things – or things that seem to solve a problem, but in turn create more.
Feels a bit like the’re running out of ideas along this line. Happy to be proved wrong.
